He reinvents Paradiso as a place where people are naked and there are no angels explaining the perfect monarchy and Inferno as a place without fires or altars in the sky except for the fountains of the imagination. He has not lain with Beauty but he has slept with her in his bed and spilled out poems which are her offspring. He recalls a night where he was wowed by a dame but the next day found that she had bad teeth and hated poetry. I have come to feel like Amo Jones is an author who is going to push my boundaries when consuming her books. Then again, I’m happy they couldn’t otherwise it would have made for one very strange and boring dark romance. As much as they both tried to fight it they just couldn’t stay away. Killian and Saskia were like fire and gasoline most of the time, but they had this draw and connection that makes complete sense after all is revealed. But at the same time, I was caught up in the story telling and the evolution of the characters. I felt like every moment I was wondering what was really going on and waiting for more pieces to be revealed to put the complete picture together. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Miriam could only force herself to the next stopping place, the next small portion of food, the next icy stream to be crossed.
